As a charity, we rely on the kindness of our community to continue providing care across Oxfordshire, the Thames Valley and beyond. Every lottery entry helps us be there for more children and families.

How much does it cost to enter?
Each lottery line costs just £1 per week and enters you into our weekly Friday draw for the chance to win prizes of up to £25,000. You can choose as many lines as you'd like, starting from just 1 line per week.
To make sure you're entered into every draw and never miss a chance to win, payments are collected monthly by Direct Debit. Any small surplus generated by the payment schedule is treated as a donation to Helen & Douglas House, helping us provide vital care and support for local children and their families.
Can I add Gift Aid to my lottery payment?
Each monthly payment for each ticket to the lottery costs £5, with £4.34 being the cost of the lottery ticket and 66p as a direct donation to Helen & Douglas House.
While Gift Aid cannot be claimed on payments made for lottery entries as these are considered payments to take part in a draw, Gift Aid can be claimed on the direct donation made as part of the ticket cost.
What can I win?
By playing the Helen & Douglas House Lottery, you'll be in with a chance of winning one of our weekly prizes:
- Match 6 numbers in the correct order £25,000
- Match 5 numbers in the correct order: £250
- Match 4 numbers in the correct order: £20
- Match 3 numbers in the correct order: 2 free entries into the next draw
To win, your numbers must match the winning six-digit sequence in the correct positions.
For example, if the winning number sequence is 123456, the lottery number 123077 would be a 3-number match.
How does my weekly entry help Helen & Douglas House?
Every time you play the Helen & Douglas House Lottery, you're helping provide vital care and support for local children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
At least 50% of all lottery ticket sales goes directly to Helen & Douglas House, helping fund specialist care, family support and respite services when they're needed most.
By taking part, you're not only giving yourself the chance to win prizes of up to £25,000, you're helping make a real difference to families facing some of life's toughest challenges.
How old do I need to be to play?
You must be 18 years of age or over to play the Helen & Douglas House Lottery.
Can I choose my own numbers?
No, lottery numbers are allocated randomly. For each entry you purchase, you'll be assigned a unique six-digit lottery number.
Your lottery number will remain the same for as long as your membership stays active, making it easy to check your results each week.
How many entries can I buy each week?
Each lottery entry costs £1 per week. You can sign up for up to two entries per week using the online form. If you'd like to play more than two entries, please contact us and we'll be happy to help arrange up to the maximum of 10 entries per week.

What happens after I sign up?
Once your application has been processed, we'll send confirmation of your details and your six unique lottery numbers. Your numbers will be entered into every weekly draw and will stay the same for as long as you play.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. You can cancel your Direct Debit at any time by contacting your bank or building society.

How is the draw run?
The Helen & Douglas House Weekly Lottery draw takes place every Friday. All eligible entries are included automatically, and winning numbers are selected using a secure random number generator in accordance with Gambling Commission requirements.
What is the best way to pay?
Direct Debit is the easiest and most secure way to pay. It ensures you're entered into every weekly draw automatically, so you never miss a chance to win.

How will I know if I've won?
If you are a lucky winner, you do not need to do anything! We will send your prize money directly to you by bank transfer, or we'll get in touch with you for more information.
I have lost my lottery numbers, what should I do?

What are my odds of winning the Helen & Doulas House Lottery?
Each Helen & Douglas House lottery entry gives you the chance to win a prize by matching the digits on your entry number.
Match all six digits to win the top prize of £25,000, with odds of 1 in 1,000,000.
Match five digits to win £250, with odds of 1 in 18,518, or match four digits to win £20, with odds of 1 in 823.
If you match three digits, you will receive two bonus entries into future draws using your bonus number, with odds of 1 in 69.

Helen & Douglas House relies on the generosity of supporters to provide specialist care and support for local children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
By launching a weekly lottery, we're creating an easy and affordable way for people to support our work regularly.
Every £1 entry helps fund vital care, while giving players the chance to win great cash prizes.
I am currently supporting Helen & Douglas House through Local Hospice Lottery - what does this mean for me?
Helen & Douglas House worked in partnership with Local Hospice Lottery for 12 years between 2014 and 2026, and players contributed over £3 million during this time.
As of 1st April 2026, Helen & Douglas House & Local Hospice Lottery agreed to cease promotion of this lottery to recruit new players. However, all existing players will continue to have their current game numbers entered into future weekly Local Hospice Lottery draws ensuring that Helen & Douglas House continue to benefit from their regular support whilst players still have a chance to win top prizes.
By playing the Local Hospice Lottery you will still be donating to Helen & Douglas House, but you won’t have the opportunity to buy new lines in that lottery.
